Vanessa Williams in Rafella Chinamo—I love this color on her and the hair and earrings add an easy flow on the carpet.. |
Rose Byrne in Valentino…Gorgeous dress! |
Kim Kardashian in Ina Soltani —Can we say oohlala…Kim’s curves in this gown, hair, make-up and jewels are smashing on the carpet… |

Chloe Sevigny in Isaac Mizrahi..I love this polka dot one shoulder…she is very stately and graceful.. |
Cat Deely in Alberta Ferretti—Warm color and flair…I love the symmetry of this dress…A real beauty! |
Lindsay Price in J Mendel—Her body draped in this lovely color makes me want to open a bottle of fine French Bordeax! |
Blake Lively in Versace…She and Donatella are having a bit of a fashion dalliance …The MET and now The Emmy awards…I think I love the look! |
Jennifer Morrison in Calvin Klein–This is a very chic look..reminiscent of Grace Kelly, all that’s missing is the fabulous diamonds around her neck but she is not GK and is fabulous as she is! |
Anna Torv in Marc Bouwer—Chic Styling |
Cicely Tyson…OMG, she is a timeless beauty! She looks like she is in her 30′s…Love the head piece and the jewels. And your make-up..flawless! |
Cicely Tyson, the complete picture and a very darling one…Ms Tyson, you are a role model on many fronts and on the fashion front you are shining…joie de vivre!! |
Neil Patrick Harris is soo very dapper.. |
Mario Lopez…He gets better looking as the years go by… |
|
FASHION COUPLING
Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan—This is a couple totally dedicated to each other…relationship role models, and present quite the stunning picture… |
John Hammand and Jennifer Westfeldt are wonderfully gorgeous. So very picture perfect. |
Jennifer Carpenter and Michael…we are used to them looking casual, solving/doing crimes…how fantastic to see them as a stunning couple… |
Tracy Morgan and guest are oooh so radiant and elegantly attired! |
Drew Barrymore & Justin Long are so cute together and so elegantly coiffed… |
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are another Hollywood couple with staying power…They are great at relating and they style with flair! |
OOOPSY—SHE WORE IT & IT DOESN’T LOOK SO GOOD
Padma Lakshmi in Bagely Mischka—quite stunned at the positioning of the red fabric on the side of the gown…why? |
Sarah Silverman in Ella Moss—she is generally very casual so this dress is a step up from her usual silly casual ensembles but she has migrated to a dressy mess. I think the wings on her hips are going to take flight off the carpet…And she is so pretty but the hair could still use some work.. Better luck next time! |
Patricia Arquette—Just can’t seem to get it right…Her red carpet attire from event to event have been misses…Time for a Style change…Need some help with that? |
Lisa Edelstein is a hot mess…The gown is nice aside from the white train being distracting..But her hair, good Lord Almighty, what happened, did the birds attack again? |
Karina Smirnoff is rather “green” in this attire…She is off the style charts here, juvenile—comes to mind…Let’s try taking the event seriously next time. |
Elizabeth Moss…Her hair and face are great but the gown is not doing it for me…lack-luster… |
Victoria Rowell is generally a style maven but something else is going on here…President Obama’s face as the focal points of her dress is definitely a statement…What statement you ask…only Victoria can answer that question. |
Justin Timberlake is just not right here…the curls on his head are dizzyingly unflattering….No more curls please…. And the shirt and tie colors are too boring …. |
WHO WORE IT SAFE
Perry Reeves in Naeem Khan…Gorgeous gown by a brilliant designer but the sexy factor lost on Perry… |
Mary-Louise Parker in Zac Posen is sleek, yet super safe…too casual for the Emmy Awards… |
Mariska Hargitey in Carolina Herrera…Beautiful gown and definitely figure flattering but I think this should have been worn by an older woman… |
Tina Fey in Gucci is just boring…The elegant WOW factor is absent from Tina in this gown.. |
Jennifer Love Hewitt in Max Azrielle is missing the Stunner factor. Very blasé and uninspiring…. |
Jamie-Lynn Sigler in Donna Karan is sexy but safe…She is too hot for this gown…. |
Elizabeth Perkins in Reem Acra—She usually does fashion in an off-beat kind of way (her own drum)…something not quite right. Here is a good attempt but too safe…again not attaining ultimate elegance.. |
Adrienne Frantz has such a great body that I am baffled as to why she is not embracing it…Sexy Chic absent! |
ON THE FASHION FENCE
Olivia Wilde in Marchesa—Didn’t love the hair and the gown is saying so much that it is confusing. Love the sexy one shoulder and even the throw back to the 19th century with the layering from the thighs down, BUT….. |
Mila Kunis in Monique Lhuillier—What a beautiful woman…I feel like the dress is overpowering her, as if she is holding it up with her shoulders, Try adding a bit more GLAM with a big ring, necklace and or some stunning earrings…The color is great against her skin tone… |
Debra Messing in Michael Kors—messing around with the reds from the carpet to the gown to the hair. She presents a very statuesque picture, truly beautiful but I think another gown would have been more favorable… |
Leighton Meister in Bottega—This gown is a little overwhelming on Leighton. |
Kyra Sedgwick in Basil Soda—There is a lot going on with this dress..too busy and the shoes are a NO…. |
Kate Walsh in J Mendel—Beautiful gown, yet tight around the bodice…Where is the fabulous necklace? |
Kara Dioguardi in Custom National—This is a very elegant look and yet 3 decades her senior. |
Hayden Panettiere in J Mendel—is soo gorgeous but the dress is a decade too old for her. |

The Latest Ryan’s Roses —Episode-Friends & Boyfriends
Christina and James—on the road to marriage but they’ve just hit a bump on that road, one named Yvonne…Christina, what a sweet naive girl? Yvonne is Christina’s best friend, she lost her father 8 months ago and Christina being busy asked her fiance James to comfort her friend…Honey, Yvonne is sad and depressed over loosing her dad, she needs a shoulder to lean on, please lend her one of yours for a while. Notice that Yvonne needs a friend to lean on, this gesture made by Christina leads us to believe that she is single and not dating or in a committed relationship but what about family, none?
Would you offer up your man to a friend in need, one dealing with Yvonne’s type of crisis? I am totally generous with my time to basically all people; I help where I can, stranger or friends/family but there is a boundary “my man”, not sharing him. The fact that Yvonne is in a mournful state and is single would send up red flags of a woman who would take the sympathy offering out of bounds. And besides, there is one key factor Christina did not calculate and that is that her friend Yvonne might have been jealous of her relationship with James all along, might even have a crush on him and he on her. Take a listen at how James tries to wiggle his way out of the pit that he dug with his lips/tongue and God knows what else……hear how he treats a very decent, sensitive and caring woman.

It’s not about trusting your man as Ryan Seacrest argued, it’s understanding human nature and when the tears start to roll, men often turn into bumbling idiots and they allow themselves to be drawn in emotionally, they cannot handle a crying woman—they often times love to help/save wounded puppies and a single woman in mourning is just that, a very wounded pup. Sometimes the “Needy” factor can be an ego boost. It could be that Christina is too self sufficient, independent and confident for James to handle. He may need to be needed…
The bottom line is that you don’t rub your finger against the bare blade of a knife for fear of getting cut. Men are visual creatures, but go weak at the sight of tears, the emotional side of them kick in, making most incapable of staying on task. They see the tears and they melt like ice cream on a hot summer’s day. I love my husband and I trust him but not to comfort another woman…no way, no how…How about you, would you trust your man/woman to comfort another? Think of the bonds that could form that don’t really include you…the secret laughs, jokes….it is wrong on so any levels…Offering up your mate for more than an hour to a friend in an emotional time is disruptive to your marriage and courtship. Sorrowful situations call for family and like sex support, keep the opposite sex out of the equation otherwise you are running the risk of emotional backlash.
Catch you later….Mauva
